ILIYA BAWA had a doctorate degree in marketing (strategic marketing). He had his primary education at E.C.W.A Transferred Primary School Keffi, and Secondary Education at Government College Keffi. He gained admission to read Business Administration and Management in Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa in 1992, and had his National Diploma (ND) in 1994. In 1995, he gain admission as one of the pioneer students of Marketing Department in Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa and had his Higher National Diploma (HND) Marketing in 1997.
He participated in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme at Government Secondary School Waka-Biu, Borno State in 1998. He worked as a Cashier with Prelude Resort and Restaurant, Garki-Abuja in 1999. Between 1999 –2001 he worked as a general supervisor and front office manager in K’Abuja Restaurant and Luxury Suite - Asokoro, Abuja. Because of his zeal to develop himself, he resigned his appointment in Abuja and later proceeded to Nasarawa State University, Keffi, between 2004 – 2005 as one of the pioneer students of Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration. He had a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) Marketing Option with the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomosho – Oyo State, Nigeria. He also had a second Master Degree M.Sc. Marketing and PhD Marketing (Strategic Marketing) with the International University Bamenda, Cameroon. He did a top up Bsc degree in Business administration with the salem university lokoja kogi state Nigeria. He was offered a part-time teaching appointment (week-end programme) with the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa. Because of his hard work, and commitment, he was absorbed as a full time staff in 2005 and rose through the ranks from the rank of an Higher Instructor in the Department of Marketing to the rank of Assistant Chief Instructor between 2005 to 2019. In 2019 he resigned his appointment with the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa and accepted an offer of a new appointment as Lecturer II in the Department of Business Administration Federal University Lokoja Kogi State Nigeria to date.
