Ahead of his official installation and first convocation of the School, the first Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) and Emir of Fika, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa CON has assured the University Management of his full support for programmes and revenue generation drives towards the development of the Institution.

The Chancellor gave this assurance when some members of the University Management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Angela Freeman Miri paid him a courtesy call at his palace in Fika-Potiskum, Yobe State.

The Emir appreciated the delegation for the visit and thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing him as the Chancellor and for taking concrete steps against insecurity in the region. He admitted that six (6) months prior to their visit, the delegates could not have dreamt of coming to the State as his own life was attempted on three (3) different occasions.

The Chancellor, who was calm and calculative, admitted that his appointment as Chancellor to FUL was not the first time he was given such assignment as he has served in the same capacity with the University of Uyo and University of Calabar in the past.

In her remark, the Vice-Chancellor, appreciated the Emir for the warm reception accorded her and her team and conveyed the best wishes of the University Council, Management, Staff and students. She also traced the history of Federal University Lokoja, the strategic nature of the University and the appointment of the Emir as its first Chancellor. Professor Miri narrated the enormous challenges confronting the institution and the efforts put in place by the previous administration to see to its development. The Vice-Chancellor later handed a bounded copy of her Road Map containing her vision and mission for the rapid development of the University.
