FUL Students Bag Federal Government Scholarships

Five 200-level students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) have received the Federal Government Scholarship Awards to study various undergraduate programmes at the University. The names and award letters of the deserving students were forwarded to the University through the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor M.S. Audu by the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB) under the Federal Ministry of Education.

In the letters which were received today by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi from FSB staff Mr. Abdul Gaminana, the Board stated that the scholarship which is tenable only in Nigeria takes effect from the beginning of the 2022 Academic Session, adding that the value of each award was two hundred and fifty thousand Naira (N250,000.00) only per session for three (3) years.

The Vice-Chancellor while presenting the scholarship awards to two (2) of the beneficiaries in his office, congratulated the awardees and charged them to utilize the money judiciously for the purpose intended. He equally admonished them to justify the award by striving for academic excellence in their respective fields of study at the University.

Professor Akinwumi who was highly elated expressed profound appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR; the Honourable Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu; and the Director, Federal Scholarship Board, Mrs. Asta Hammanjoda Ndajiwo, for approving the scholarships to students of FUL, being one of the benefiting Public Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.

He noted that the scholarships would not only bring relief to the parents and guardians of these students but also assist the awardees who are all indigenes of Kogi State in actualizing their academic dreams in the University without much financial burdens.

1. DEBORAH MAWEDOBOJO ONU - SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION 

2. OMALE OJONE CHRISTIANA - MICROBIOLOGY

3. AJAGUN LILIAN IYABO - ECONOMICS

4. APEH HERITANCE CHUBIYOJO - SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION

5. OKWUTE ACHILLES - ECONOMICS

Recall that earlier in April this year, about twelve students of the University also benefited from the Federal Government Scholarship initiative through the FSB (Read here).
