One of the cardinal objectives of the Professor Olayemi Akinwumi-led Administration is to take the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) to global limelight by establishing linkages with renowned global bodies that will improve the quality and standard of the University in all ramifications.
In furtherance of his commitment to pursuing this important aspect of his Vision Plan for the eleven-year-old University, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, led other members of his Management Team on a courtesy visit to the Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Clara M. Pulido-Escandell on Thursday, 24th November, 2022 at the Cuba Embassy in Abuja.
During the discussion, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that the purpose of the visit was to enlist the support of the Cuban Ambassador with a view to establishing robust partnerships with some notable Universities in the Republic of Cuba in the area of strengthening the University's medical and engineering programmes, among other collaborative engagements that would be mutually beneficial, which will not only uplift FUL standard but also project her among the comity of Universities at the global space.
In her remarks, the Cuban Ambassador, who acknowledged the rich cultural and historical ties between Cuba and Nigeria, assured FUL Management of her unflinching support to the University, promising that she would use her good offices to assist and work in tandem with the Administration to achieve the set-out goals.
