Yesterday, members of Management of the Federal University Lokoja joined other worshippers at the Chapel of Grace Sanctuary, College of Health Sciences (Adankolo Campus) in giving thanks to God for the Vice-Chancellor's second year in office and the birthday of his amiable wife, Mrs. Justina Akinwumi.
It was also an opportunity to appreciate God for the 12th anniversary of the prestigious Institution, FUL. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi who was away on an official function at Benue State University, was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Abdullahi E. Bala who delivered a goodwill message on the auspicious ceremony.
In her remarks, Mrs. Akinwumi expressed gratitude to God for the Vice-Chancellor and the University, particularly for granting him good health and extraordinary strength to pursue his lofty vision for the University within the past two (2) years without breaking down despite his busy schedules and working round the clock.
Madam VC who could not hide her joy sincerely thanked the University Management, members of staff, and students for giving the VC their full support, adding that the level of development and achievements recorded so far wouldn't have been possible without their cooperation and harmony in the Institution.
Also, the Chaplain, Council, and entire members of the Chapel of Grace were not left out in Mrs. Akinwumi's appreciation as she equally thanked them for organizing the colourful event to honour her and her husband, the Vice-Chancellor.
Other management staff present at the event included the Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Gbenga Ibileye who gave his goodwill message, and the Provost, College of Health Sciences, Professor Ozovehe Mike Ogirima, mni including Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments/Divisions/Units, Students' Union, among other staff, students and members of the University Community.
Some of the highlights of the event included the cutting of the birthday and anniversary cakes, presentation of gifts, prayer for the University, the VC and his beautiful wife led by the Chaplain, Bishop Kayode Ajibade who also delivered the sermon, thanksgiving session, and group photographs.
